The European Union has adopted a new directive, the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive, to ensure an improved environment for our future.
This directive will restrict the use of certain substances in electrical and electronic products, including lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, and certain halide-containing flame retardants. Many other governments around the world are also adopting similar policies.
The directive applies to a number of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE), and their component parts, placed on the market after 1st July 2006. The most significant sources of EEE are associated with consumer electronics, e.g.
For technical and safety reasons, there are a large number of exempt products and exempt product categories. This includes all Integral Technologies products.
Although Integral Technologies and TAC manufactured products are exempt (not subject to RoHS), as part of our commitment to our worldwide customers and to support the preservation of the global environment, Integral Technologies will phase out the use of certain hazardous substances identified in the European Union’s Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive 2002/95/EC.
Integral Technologies’ commitment towards its customer and in support of protecting and preserving the global environment goes far beyond compliance with the RoHS directive. Plans have been put into place and are being executed to exceed compliance obligations by ensuring that our products, even though they are exempt, meet the most stringent requirements of the directive.
